Please read these terms before using AlphaOmega. They are written to be read, so if anything is unclear, ask us.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the AlphaOmega website, web app or the AlphaOmega Carer mobile app (together, the “service”), which are provided by Alpha Omega Technologies Ltd.
Most people use AlphaOmega because their employer, or the care provider looking after a relative, has given them access. That organisation (“your care provider”) has its own agreement with us. If that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement applies.
By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
2. Your account
- Accounts are created by your care provider. They decide what you can see and do, and can change or remove your access at any time.
- Keep your password and any two-factor codes to yourself, and do not let anyone else use your account. Tell your care provider straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- If you sign in on a shared or lost phone, sign out or ask your office to end that session. Signing out of the carer app removes the care information stored on the phone.
3. Using the service properly
The service holds sensitive information about people receiving care. When you use it you must:
- access only the records you need for your work;
- record information truthfully and accurately, including visit times, check-ins and care notes;
- keep what you see confidential, and follow your care provider’s policies on sharing it; and
- follow the law, including data protection law.
You must not:
- try to get into accounts, records or parts of the service you have not been given access to;
- probe, scan or test the service’s security, or interfere with how it works, without our written permission;
- upload anything unlawful or harmful, including malware; or
- copy, scrape or resell the service or its content.
We may suspend access that we reasonably believe is being misused, and will tell the care provider concerned.
4. Care and clinical information
AlphaOmega is a tool for recording and organising care. It does not give medical advice, and it does not replace professional judgement or your care provider’s policies and procedures. In an emergency, call 999.
5. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the service available and secure, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. The carer app is designed to keep working without signal and sends your updates once you are back online.
We improve the service regularly, so features may change. You may need to install updates to the carer app to keep using it.
6. Intellectual property
The service, including its software, design and content, belongs to Alpha Omega Technologies Ltd or its licensors. The information that care providers and their users put into the service belongs to them. We give you permission to use the service only as these terms and your care provider’s agreement allow. The carer app includes open-source software, whose licences are listed in the app.
7. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Our responsibilities to care providers are set out in our agreements with them. Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or that result from misuse of the service or from a failure to follow these terms.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time. Your access ends when your care provider removes it, or when its agreement with us ends. Your care provider decides what happens to records about you, as the Privacy policy explains.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
10. Contact us
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@alphaomegatech.co.uk, or by post to Alpha Omega Technologies Ltd, 102 Andrewes Street, Leicester. If your question is about your account or your care, please contact your care provider first.
